Best Student’s Film Award for International Father’s Day at 10th Varna, Bulgaria

International Father’s Day by Edmunds Jansons have got the Best Student’s Film Award at 10th World Festival of Animated Film Varna in Bulgaria.

Jury about International Father’s Day said: “The film was selected for its great visual design of characters, visually stunning and clean style and very fine humor.”

The First World Animated Film Festival “Varna″ took place in Varna city near Balck Sea in 1979. The following five biannual editions classified it as one of the most important animated film festivals in the world organized under the patronage of ASIFA together with Annecy, Zagreb, Ottawa and Hiroshima festivals. After the political and economic changes in Bulgaria in 1989 Varna Festival interrupted its existence for a long period of time. It has been resored on 2014.

International Father’s Day has been made as a graduation work by Edmunds Jansons in Animation Master program in Estonian Academy of Arts in 2012. It has been selected at 55 official selections of film festivals all over the world and have got Jury’s Special Mention at 16th HAFF in the Netherlands and Best Animated Short Film (up to 10 min) Award at 4th Golden Kuker, Sofia International Animation Film Festival also in Bulgaria.
