Renzo Kinoshita Prize for Choir Tour at HIROSHIMA’ 14

Edmunds Jansons’ film Choir Tour got Renzo Kinoshita Proze for his film Choir Tour at 15th International Animation Festival in Japan – HIROSHIMA 2014. “New and sophisticated graphics and a fresh sound are impressive. The elements, not only cute characters and humor but also the entertainment deserve this prize,” says Joško Marušić, Chairperson of the Jury.

Hiroshima International Animation Festival is a biennial manifestation this year held in Hiroshima City from August 21st to 25th, endorsed by Association Internationale du Film d’Animation (ASIFA). Under the spirit of LOVE & PEACE, the festival has been dedicating to the advancement of visual media art culture in general, by promoting international cross-cultural exchanges through the development of animation art.

Together with those festivals held in Annecy, Ottawa and Zagreb, the Hiroshima Festival is considered as one of the most respected animation festivals in the world. Hiroshima International Animation Festival was established in 1985, as a project commemorating the 40th anniversary of the atomic bombing. This year the festival is celebrating its 30th birthday. On the occasion of the fifteenth edition HIROSHIMA 2014, the competition attracted 2,117 entries from all over the world. Only 59 were selected for international competition.
